Concerned about using fuel tank cleaners

Hi everyone, I've been trying to keep my CR-V running smoothly and recently used a fuel tank cleaner to help with buildup, since we travel a lot and burn a fair bit of gas. But my mechanic mentioned these products might clog filters or lines. Has anyone here used them without issues?

I used a few name-brand cleaners on my CR-V over the years and never ran into problems. Maybe just take it easy using them? Don't use them too much or something. Follow instructions well too.

I used a name-brand one and followed the instructions, so hopefully no issues. I'll avoid overusing it, I am just trying to keep things clean while traveling often.

Good point. It's hard to know what actually helps long-term, I figured occasional use might prevent buildup, but now I'm questioning if it's worth the risk or just smart marketing
