so I bought a secondhand 2012 pilot touring and I am planning to do an engine swap. I already bought the J35Z2, but apparently it is for a 2wd. I dom't think there's a 2wd pilot in the market or is there? but yeah based on my search I would need a J35Z4. the Z2 might be different when it comes to performance? and it might not be a good fit for the awd pilot? sooo, what to do? should i keep the Z2 or should i find a Z4? waste of money for me if i reject the first one I bought but it is my mistake anywya

Yup, there should be a 2WD version of the 2012 Honda Pilot, but most of them are AWD. The J35Z2 is designed for 2WD models, while the J35Z4 is for AWD versions. I think you have two options in this case, you could try to make theJ35Z2 work by checking the mounts, sensors and transmission are bolted properly, you may also need to swap some parts from your old engine OR you could just sell it and get a J35Z4, could be more costly but its less hassle but if you're okay with some modifications and tuning, you could try to make the J35Z2 work.

oh, ok. I didn't know there's a 2wd version of the pilot. that makes me feel at peace. I can try the Z2 for the meantime if ever issues arise I would of course go to the dealership for help.
