Replacing my Honda Pilot with a Tesla, a good idea?

You know that happy wife, happy life. She wants a Tesla and I think it's probably a good idea because my Honda pilot has served us for more than a decade. I'm thinking about Model Y due to the tax advantage, but Model 3 is also attractive. I wouldn't get rid of my pilot ofc, because of its 8 seats, the effectiveness, and the sentimental value.
What do you think guys, if we see from the cost, the tax advantage, and the effectiveness, is it a good idea to switch to Tesla?

Not from New Jersey but I'm all for making your wife happy, I'm a wife too and mom of 3 kids 🥰

You might also want to consider checking eligibility requirements for federal and state incentives but I heard your state is a bit aggressive in encouraging EV adoption. Also I'm not sure how big your family is but from my perspective, Pilot is one of the best family cars!

Whatever you decide about Tesla, I'm with you about keeping your Pilot! I'd never replace mine for a Tesla, sorry folks ✌️

yes i think a tesla is a good investment. but yes i agree with @catholson21212 you don't have to get rid of your pilot. it's very reliable and you can't find any of the same quality especially if it's 10 years old and still doing you so well. i'm pretty sure you'll get returns for opting for an ev at this age and time.

Model Y gives you more space and that sweet tax credit, so it makes sense. Model 3 is nice but not as practical if you're used to a bigger ride. Keeping the pilot is smart for hauling people and nostalgia. If you can charge at home and don't mind the ev switch, Tesla's a solid move too

If you can keep the Pilot keep it, then have the Tesla as an additional so you have a variety. My cousin does the same, she uses the Tesla for city driving and her Pilot for long drives.

@MasterOfPuppets I'm not a fan of Tesla, especially right now lol. idk, I just don't like the design.
probably bcs I'm a Honda fan, I'm actually eyeing the Honda Prologue EV cause I like the design better.
just my personal opinion here

which Tesla are you getting? is it the Cybertruck?

for me, I agree with everyone else here to keep the Pilot and get the Tesla for the wife

I agree with Model 3. I'm a big car person myself so I totally get this

That's a smart choice, for real. The Model Y is definitely a better option at the moment, it still qualifies for the full $7,500 tax credit (unlike the Model 3, which lost it for most trims), plus it offers more space, optional seating for seven if you need it, and a lot more cargo capacity. You can keep the Pilot for those bigger trips and unforgettable moments, while the Model Y handles your everyday errands. It's like having the best of both worlds
