What to do with mouse nesting in my 2014 Honda Pilot SE?

For weeks, I noticed that the airflow inside my 2014 Honda Pilot SE has been coming out weaker and weaker but I only noticed recently that there are some torn apart insulation and fabric inside my car. The mouse has been nesting in my ventilation system I'm just shocked this has happened, I've had my car for years!

We've cleaned out its nest but the airflow hasn't really improved. What else should I check and how do I make sure this doesn't happen again? Need practical tips because I want to maintain it so i can use it for many more years Regular mechanic check-ups is not so accessible for me for the moment!

Pretty sure best way to go about it is to actually kill the mice. If it's been nesting there, it's probably not just one. Really expensive to do some repairs and replacements of wires nowadays, might even pay more than you paid for your car. So no. Kick it out. Kill it if you may. "It" if it's really just one,

Yes, we're trying to trace its behavior to probably set up traps. Hopefully, it's just one

since you already cleared the nest but still have weak airflow, check the cabin air filter if it's probably clogged with debris. If that's clean or not too bad, you may have more nesting deeper in the ducts or a partially blocked blower motor even. try out steel wool and peppermint oil near entry points to prevent another potential nesting

i found that this problem is common among honda pilot owners apparently because the manufacturing involves soy-based wiring. do you think we can do something about the wires rather than just pest out the rodents lol

i'm afraid it's most likely not just one... i'm glad my pilot isn't having this problem so right now i'm still laughing. hope you get rid of the pest problem soon!

This whole situation honestly feels like a Pixar script gone wrong because imagine a mouse saying "Honey, I shrunk the airflow," but seriously, if soy-based wiring is what's drawing the critters in as @BBQKing82 suggested, it might be worth looking into some rodent repellent tape which could not only keep mice out but possibly also discourage their cousins from joining the party; meanwhile, @kenlary24's steel wool and peppermint trick seems solid though you might also want to inspect every nook in the ducts because if there's more nesting deeper down, it's like cleaning the living room while ignoring the attic and expecting the rats to just pack up and leave.

I would pass out and refuse to even go inside the car, I hate mice very much lol. you're really strong for dealing it on your own
