Well, my 2023 TrailSport is done. Took a corner too wide at the trailhead and put it on its roof in some soft brush. Thankful the windows were up, because the curtain airbags and seatbelts did their job perfectly and I walked away clean. The roof and pillars are bent, so I know what's coming but is there a smarter way to handle the insurance adjuster?

yeah, the adjuster's job is to get you a fair market value, but they're still working for the insurance company.
Before you talk to them, you need to do your own research. Find three or four similar 2023 CRV TrailSports for sale in your area with similar mileage and condition. This gives you solid evidence to back up your own price if their initial offer is too low

Thanks for all the input. The adjuster came by earlier this month and I held off on asking about their valuation method until they gave me the official number. It came in lower than expected, so I pulled comps from local listings and used Edmunds and KBB to back up my counter. I also had a body shop confirm the structural damage, which helped reinforce that it wasn't repairable. I'm still waiting to hear back on the revised offer, but I'll post an update once it's finalized.

Easy mix-up, though I'm hoping the adjuster doesn't make the same one when they run their numbers.
