Best Pilot year model and trim?

I think it's about time for an upgrade. I'm ditching my 2009 Pilot and leaning toward a used 2018 Touring with under 100k miles. What year and trim is best for reliability and value? Also looking for a guide or list on what to check during test driving / viewing if anyone has one. Thanks.

not sure about the newer models, but you might want to avoid the first year or two of the beginning of generation. It's not like theu're terrible, but there are sometimes things that need to be ironed out. Aim for a facelift or midgen refresh, something like that.

When test driving look for noises that shouldn't be there, clunking, whining, whiring, stuff like that. Check for rust or damages. See if you can get service history. If you're not sure about any of these you can always take it to a dealer or an independent shop that you trust for a check.

If you're upgrading anyway, why not skip the gas and go hybrid or EV, does sticking with a gas-powered SUV in 2025 really make sense long-term?
